How to create an afro puff
Afro Puffs are a quick, easy hairstyle created by using a knee high sock or a "hair-safe" elastic band. "Hair-safe" bands do not have a metal enclosure. This ensures that the hair is protected from being snagged.
Examples of "hair-safe" hair bands are Goody headbands which can be purchased at CVS or Walgreens.

"Crossing Lace Braids or X Braids"
Hi Everyone!! How's your weekend?
I saw another hairstyle from my fave hair bloggers. This is called the "CROSSING LACE BRAIDS" or the "X-BRAIDS". It is simply 2 dutch lace braids (or any kind of braids) that crosses at the center.
Well, this is how it turned out on my daughter's hair after I've done it:
As you can see on the side view of this hairstyle, i did a dutch braid on the 2 top parts on each side, crossing them to the other side of the bottom part of the hair.
When you get to the bottom half part this is where you do the lace braid, wherein you only take hair or add hair from the top.
It kinda looked a bit different from the original, i guess because i braided her hair a bit tight or near the scalp. The trick here is to make the braids a little bit loose to make the lace braid look kind of flowing.
Thanks for reading. Until next time! Happy hair styling everyone!

The Deep Side Part Wavy Hairstyle
- Apply a smoothing serum to your hair and grab your blow dryer. Make sure every bit of moisture is out of your hair—this will ensure a longer hold for the curls.
- Part your hair on the opposite side of where you want the final deep side part to be placed: you’ll get much better volume this way. With a 1.5” curling iron start to curl your hair section by section.
- Keep curling, section by section, and apply hair spray as you go to ensure hold.
- Once completely curled, determine where you want to place the deep side part and flip your hair over. Lightly tease a section of hair at your crown for added volume.
- Take a section of hair from the parted side and separate it into two pieces. Twist the pieces together, adding bits of hair—as though you were French braiding—as you move towards the nape of your neck.
- Pin the twist at the nape of your neck and use your fingers to comb through the curls, breaking apart the structure. Once your hair is wavy to your liking, add a final spray of hairspray and get ready to enjoy your night!

How To Style a Flower Bun Hairstyle
- Part your hair the way you like, then separate a one-inch section of hair at each temple and clip those sections out of the way.
- Gather your remaining hair at the nape of your neck.
- Then create two or three low braids, securing the ends with clear elastics.
- Twist each braid until it curls into itself; bobby-pin in place.
- Last, unclip and twist the two pieces by your temples.
- Pin under the braided bun or, for a slightly fancier flourish, tuck their ends into the bun before securing.

Tuesday's Hair - Mohawk Anyone??
Hi everyone!! How are you all doing?
Mindy's hair blog "CuteGirlsHairstyles" is very famous now in the US. Even her FB page is famous. She & her family (dad & kids) were invited on Anderson Cooper's TV show to do hairstyling. Though, we don't have that channel here in the Philippines, I'm waiting for it on YouTube. They have been on many TV shows in the US.
By the way, the top she is wearing is from SM KIDS (SM is like one of the many popular malls here in the Philippines). It's like a Lady Gaga inspired top, with all the big bows and ruffles on the sleeves:

My daughter really loved this hairstyle!! The pictures tell it all!!
So that's it my friends! Our Tuesday hair....good to wear on these hot summer days! When we go swimming, she will definitely have these hairstyle.
Whew!! It's super hot now here in the Philippines!!
Summer time!!
Since it's very hot here, and my daughter has long hair, she wanted to always have her hair up in a ponytail. Just to keep it away from her face & neck.
So i started looking at these 4 hair blogs i follow for some nice updo hair styles. There were lots of them! And because i was running out of time i need something quick. Finally i saw one at Mindy's blog http://www.cutegirlshairstyles.com/ and it's called the "BUN-HAWK" a cute version of the Mohawk (w/c is originally worn by men) It is also called the "BANTU KNOTS". This was such a cute idea & very easy to do!
the "Bun-Hawk" |
Going back to the hairstyle, as i said, it was very easy to do. You just have to part your daughter's hair into 5 pony tails. You can make the parting equally or you can do it like small pony to big pony. Then each ponytail, you grab the hair and twist it. Keep twisting till it curls up then you can now make a bun. Secure them with elastic bands & bobby pins. Here is our finished product:
the "Bun-Hawk" |
As you can see i started the bottom ponytail smaller and as it goes up it gets bigger. But, like i said you can do your ponytails equally/same amount of hair.
I took some more pics and here they are:
she feels like a rock star!! |

How to make the updo hairstyle
IDEAL FOR : Hair with texture thick, curly or color-treated.
IT's OKAY IF : It turns a little lopsided, That ust adds to the sexy bedhead feel.
How to :
- Backcomb the hair at the crown, here's how : pull up a two-inch section of hair. then comb backward, in short, choppy movements
- Smooth the hair over the teased section, toward the bock of your head. you'll undo some of the back-combing, but that okay.
- Gather hair at the nape, using your hand as an anchor, with your free hand; twist the loose portion all the way down to the ends.
- Flip the twisted section up against the back of your head, tucking the ends into the base of the twist. holding the twist in place, secure with hairpins
