How To Trim Split Ends

Steps :
  • 1 : Part the hair down center.
  • 2 : Divide into equal sections and bring hair in front of your shoulders.
  • 3 : Divide the first section in half again.
  • 4 : Working one section at a time, begin to twist hair.
  • 5 : Twist all the way to the ends.
  • 6 : Using your thumb and index finger, gently glide hand across the twist from ends to midshaft.

  • 8 : Snip away at frayed ends, Repeat for each remaining section.

How To Style a Messy Top Knot

How To Style :
  • Step 1 : First put your hair into a high pony tail, relatively tight, but don’t pull all your hair all the way through.
  • Step 2 : Take half of the hair left hanging down and twist and pin it in the front.
  • Step 3 : This will cover the pony tail holder. Do the same thing with the other side.
  • Step 4 : Pin down parts of the middle part of the pony so it isn’t sticking straight up.
  • Step 5 : Then pin some down in the back so the other part of the pony tail holder isn’t showing and you’re done!

How To Style :
  • Step 1 : Curl the top layer of hair with the rest of your hair messy/curly. Mine was kind of curling from no heat curls the night before.

  • Step 3 : Gather your hair in place where you want it, not tight at all, and secure with an elastic.
  • Step 4 : Pull tight, then pull out strands as needed to create a “messy on purpose” type of look.
  • Step 5 : Wrap an extra piece of hair around the elastic.
  • Step 6 : And You’re done!

Untidy Bun hair Tutorial

How To Style :
For this hair do, prepare the hair by applying the texturing product. To get the best look, your hair should have texture. Then tie up at the back of the head with a flexible hair band, either in the side, at high or in a low placement. Then cover the hair starting from the base of the ponytail in order to give it a bun look, and then secure it in a right place by using bobby hooks.

Pretty Toddler Ballet Buns

All the little girls at my daughter's most recent holiday Nutcracker ballet performance were using (or rather, their mom's were using) these bun donuts to make the most beautiful, shiny, full buns, even on fine or short toddler hair.

the tool looks like this, which you can purchase from amazon or most beauty supply stores: (you can also make your own by cutting out the toe area from a sock and rolling it to form the donut.)

So here is how to make the perfect ballet bun, using the bun form above:

Festive Holiday Hair for girls

This post featured on babble shows how to do 12 easy and fancy holiday hairstyles for little girls.

Consider the following a holiday hair guide for the rest of us. The rest of us with so-so braiding skills, very little patience, or hard to style hair. There’s no reason our little girls shouldn’t be able to have fancy hair for the holidays. Rather than relying on long hair (something we don’t have) we rely on easy styles with simple embellishments anyone with desire and a hot glue gun can make and tailor to their own needs.

Using a few things at the store to put together some fun holiday embellishments, we could have gone crazy with holiday peacocks, Santa hats and tiny little wrapped presents sticking out of ponytails, but we decided to keep it simple. Head to the holiday section of any craft store and see what inspires you. Here is what was purchased for these hairdos:
  • 3 plastic headbands -$3
  • Bag of little satin roses – $3.50
  • Thin red, gold and green ribbon – $1 each
  • Thick red satin ribbon – $2
  • 4 candy cane shaped ornaments – $2
  • Glittery snowflake ornament (with 3 snowflakes) – $1.50
  • What we already had – Hair ties, bobby pins, plastic sewing needletail comb, spray bottle and a hot glue gun.

Make A Sleek Parted Ponytail For Your Hair

Steps :
1. Brush your hair all the way through to get all the knots out and make it really smooth.
2. Create a deep side part. The deeper the better (which means: the more to the side, the better). If you have bangs, it's ok, you can use some product like a pomade or extra hairspray keep them slicked down.
3. Comb your hair into a smooth ponytail. You can make it whatever height you want. This summer, I am loving ponies that sit right smack in the middle of your head.
4. Secure with a rubber band. Make sure it's as tight as you can get it, you don't want your ponytail slipping down halfway through the day!
5. Hide the rubber band with a bit of hair. (I like to do this, especially if I'm going out to dinner or drinks and want to look a little fancier.) Just take a bit of hair from the underside of the ponytail and wrap it around the band. Pin in place (with bobby pins) underneath the ponytail to secure.
6. backcombed the end of the ponytail to make it look messier.

Lovely Side Ponytail Tutorial

How To Style :
  • Step 1 : Start by curling your hair to match the texture of the ponytail extension this particular piece comes curled.
  • Step 2 : Section your hair from ear to ear and place it into a small bun or ponytail. Clip the top section out of the way for Step 4.
  • Step 3 : Place the base of your drawstring pony over your bun or ponytail and pull the elastic band to tightly secure. Open the small clip located on the top, comb it over your hair, and then snap it closed.
  • Step 4 : Unclip the top section from Step 2 and taking the tip of your teasing brush or comb, prep a small section to tease.
  • Step 5 : Start at the crown and pull up a 1-2 inch section – the smaller the section the more volume you will create.
  • Step 6 : Every time you backcomb spray a little bit of hairspray so that it holds the hair longer.
  • Step 7 : Carefully use your brush to smooth down any fly-a-ways.
  • Step 8 : Wrap smaller sections of the top around the base of the ponytail attachment and secure with bobby pins.
  • Step 9 : To finish it off, pull sections of the secured top up to reach the desired height and look.

The Wrap Around Braids Hairstyle

How To Style :
  • Step 1 : Start with wavy hair parted down the middle. Make your hair as wavy or un-wavy as you'd like.
  • Step 2 : Pull your hair half-up leaving the front parts down for braiding.
  • Step 3 : Pin the hair back with some bobby pins.
  • Step 4 : French braid the front pieces of your hair "inside-out" style, or backwards.
  • Step 5 : Stop adding hair to the braid when you reach your ear, then finish braiding all the way down and then secure with a clear elastic.
  • Step 6 : Loosen the braids a good amount. Loosen them so that you've almost made the braid flat.
  • Step 7 : Wrap one of the braids around your hair and pin into place.
  • Step 8 : Wrap the other braid around your head in the other direction and over top the other braid. Tuck the end of the top braid under the bottom braid.
  • Step 9 : You will need to go back and tuck the bottom braid under the top one again. Use bobby pins if needed.
  • Step 10 : Once the braids are secured, you can take out the clear elastics holding the braids in. Done!
